Fornasetti I Love You!

I want all of these beautiful Fornasetti decorative plates. Sadly, this year one of the members of the Fornasetti family decided they wanted the plates to be a bit more exclusive so they stopped selling to the many vendors they were previously selling to in the States. Now they are exclusive to Barney’s New York. You can also find them in two different locations in Italy, one of which is the Fornasetti studio. They look nice tucked into bookcases and shelving, that is of course if you are not going to hang them on a wall. Please don’t eat on these folks.

The gold Fornasetti plates are also very classy…Once again, don’t eat on them please.

 

 

I AdORe Bankers Hill The Restaurant!

If you live in San Diego and haven’t been to Bankers Hill.. You NEED to go! All of my “eat-mosphere” requirements are met here! ( Great… 1. Food 2. Decor 3. Service 4. Cheese Plate.)

Walking into this restaurant is already an experience…. The doors are designed beautifully..check them out below.. when the restaurant is closed they are all closed creating a wall…I just think these are intelligently designed and create an inviting feel!

When you walk in you see this is the custom chandelier above the hostess stand..Yes, its made out of recycled cups…And I like the way it is hung by sort of a pulley…..The walls you see in the background are the mostly the same through-out this restaurant, the natural reclaimed wood adds so much to the ambiance and theme.What you should look at…the ceiling beams, the light fixtures ( love the visible lightbulbs)…also the arrow on the wall!, the chairs at all of the tables (every chair is different…nice touch).

This light below, is above the bar.. Again with the stylish light bulbs…. I think this is one of my favorite elements of design within the restaurant.

Love the square glass windows leading to the outside seating/ bar area! This bar is just clean and simple…Also take note of how the bar extends from inside all the way to the outside area.

Below you get a more clear view of the outside seating area…I love the LIVE plant collage wall!!! What a great design idea!

The selection of cheeses to create your own plate is very nice…If you aren’t a cheese lover you are destined to find a cheese you like on the list.

Next… I want to talk about the type of food that is served at Bankers Hill… They sort of do a play on “rustic” american classics…Like these deviled eggs! I honestly cant think of another place with these on the menu..So good! Great appetizer.

This salad is amazing and fresh…every ingredient complements the next! So many flavors combined to perfection (by far one of the best salads in San Diego!)
